Tom Levine Scholarship for the Performing Arts

Sharon, CT — May 26, 2026 — Sharon Center School is now accepting applications for the Tom Levine Scholarship for the Performing Arts (TLSPA), created in memory of Tom Levine, a Sharon-based artist. The scholarship invites SCS students entering grades 4–8 to explore theater, dance, vocal and instrumental music, stagecraft, and production.

Each year, up to two students who demonstrate interest in the performing arts and have financial need may be selected. TLSPA is designed to open doors to quality arts experiences that build confidence, creativity, and collaboration.

Key details:

  • Eligibility: Sharon Center School students entering grades 4–8
  • Use of funds: Enrichment experiences in the performing arts (not for private instruction)
  • Selection criteria: Demonstrated interest and financial need
  • Schoolwide benefit: In years with no applicants, a portion of the fund may support schoolwide arts opportunities—such as in school professional performances, workshops, residencies—benefiting all SCS students

How to apply: Applications are available now in the Sharon Center School Main Office. Please request one from the Main Office staff. For questions, contact Carol Tomkalski at the email or telephone number above. See the application for complete guidelines and deadlines.
